KinderHaus Brooklyn, The German Immersion School of New York, is an inquiry-based preschool that offers early childhood programs for children ages 1 – 5. Children at KinderHaus are actively engaging with a hands-on curriculum in an enriching classroom environment. The teaching philosphy incorporates the best of the European Kindergarten model with a strong emphasis on outdoor time and free play. We believe that children’s play is an expression of intelligence and growth and that young children learn best through interdisciplinary projects that are based on the children’s own interests. We enrich our daily programs with regular park visits, soccer trainings, and yoga sessions, and we organize family events, such as the annual Art Exhibition. All KinderHaus teachers are German native speakers and highly qualified early childhood educators. This ensures an effective implementation of the language immersion concept where teachers only speak German in the classroom and plan all activities of the curriculum in German. KinderHaus offers full day childcare until 6PM with an extensive AfterSchool program and different themes every day of the week, such as Cooking & Baking, Science & Nature, Music, Art, and Theater.
